Our 212-cc 9.9-hp portable is an impressive little outboard with a new, shorter tiller handle for increased comfort and the option of manual or electric start. The F9.9 platform is so popular, we also offer it in a high-thrust T9.9 format. The high-thrust model offers the option of a 25-inch shaft and a V MAX SHO® sport cowl when used as a kicker on a multi-species boat.

The F9.9 and F8 feature a compact, lightweight two-cylinder single-overhead-camshaft design with a streamlined intake manifold, acceleration pump for responsive throttle advance, and intake silencer for direct airflow with minimum noise and maximum power. Protected by CDI Microcomputer Ignition that monitors throttle position, engine speed, and atmospheric conditions to precisely adjust timing for smooth operation, plus Phaze Five™ five-layer anti-corrosive paint with YDC-30 proprietary alloy, comprehensive Engine Warning System with overheat and low-oil-pressure protection, and Air Intake Labyrinth System that traps and drains water for maximum reliability, these engines offer convenient operation with a shorter handle that tucks tighter to the cowl when hinged back, built-in front and rear handles for easy portability, resting pads and oil retention system for on-side storage without cowling scuffs or oil leakage, and standard Shallow Water Drive on all tiller handle models to protect the propeller and lower unit in shallow conditions.
